how might we questions
Allow 7-Eleven to bring convenience to their customers by purchasing items ahead of time?
Expand delivery offerings to include retail products, snacks, drinks, beer, and money orders?
Increase customer loyalty so that they would continue to use the app in the future?
design process
During this project, one of my responsibilities was to reskin version 1 of the design screens to the most updated design system components and branding that got approved by the client. On top of that, I was able to tackle user stories by designing GPS/mapping, notification enabling screens, the order in progress feature, my wallet screen and brand imagery shown for items in the app. I worked directly with a principal designer and was able to streamline the designs quickly by optimizing velocity and allowing bandwidth for revisions or iterations.
GPS/Mapping Screens
The pinpointing of a specific 7-Eleven store and allowing to view other stores available within the primary store’s reach was a user story that I took reigns on and was able to complete with approval from the principal designer.
Notification Enabling Screens
The landing pages that allowed enabling of notifications was one user story that I tackled while on this project. Since most of the demographic was pertaining to millennials, the language used on the app needed to be similar to slang that millennials use on a day-to-day basis and is easy to understand. Icons were implemented with text to give users a more visual experience rather than letting them read everything all in one screen.
Order in Progress Screens
Similar to other delivery apps on the market, 7-Eleven needed a tracker to show users the process of where their food/items were while giving a definite time of when delivery or pickup was able to be made. We wanted to come up with a simple design that materialized all the necessary information that the user needed to know before receiving their order. We implemented a tracker on the top, subtext related to the tracker right below, the definite time of delivery or pickup, the address of the store that received the user’s orders with a link to get directions, and an order receipt to view what they bought. We believe the more simplistic the buying experience is the better so that users wouldn’t get confused on what to look for and imperative information about their order would be shown all under one screen.
